INDIVIDUAL or FAMILY

A person or family maintains and harvests their coffee crop on their own land. Frequently they live on the land and grow other crops for personal use and for sale. They may process the coffee to parchment or sell it as cherry.

COOPERATIVE

A loose or formal group of coffee growers who combine their resources to harvest and or process coffee.

ESTATE

An individual or group that grows, harvests and processes coffee under their own control to the point of export.

WET MILL

A community coffee processing resource that buys coffee cherry from neighbouring farmers.

DRY MILL

A coffee processing resource that buys coffee parchment and prepares coffee for export.
